Cooking in Spanish
Classes teach students the Spanish language while they learn to cook
Cooking in Spanish uses cooking as a tool to teach Spanish. The class is intended for those learning Spanish. Recipes in Spanish, conversation partner, and simple challenges encourage students to practice what they learn in class. Spanish Level: Intermediate – Advanced.
Mexican Moles, Cuban Sandwiches, Peruvian Ceviche’s and Spanish tapas are all synonymous of Latin American cuisine. Why not take home both the Spanish language and some Spanish culture so that you can feel like you are on holiday every day of the year. Spain & Latin America is infamous for its cuisine, which are served up alongside some of the most popular drinks around. In this course, you can learn how to make some typical Spanish & Latin American cuisine and even brush up on your Spanish language skills.
Some of the delicious delights you could be preparing in your course include: Lomo Saltado (Peruvian sautéed beef with onions and tomatoes), Tortilla Espanola (Spanish omelet), Pipian Verde (Mexican pumpkin seed sauce over roast chicken) and Pescado de Coco (Caribbean fish cooked in a coconut cream sauce. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Cooking in Spanish provides the kitchen, the tools, the food, the recipes and the instruction. This is no ordinary language class! The language proficiency varies in each class, but it works because the common language is food.
